2. After a short nap I opened the picnic basket and took out a cutting board and the food. We then proceeded to feed each other and shared 2 aranciatas. Another nap came out of left field after we had our fill, where upon I fell asleep on her chest and we listened to the sound of leaves rustling from the breeze. The trees were trying to tell us something, because christine opened her eyes for a minute and noticed an overcast coming from the east. I broke out the dessert and we had a few then decided to pack up. Rain was rolling in, and quick, and we had a long way to go before we could get back to the car. We walked back to the bridge and it started to rain, she pulled out a big umbrella and we sat down on a bench overlooking the hudson river and lady liberty. She took the umbrella and placed it between her legs, and I wrapped us in blankets. The rain came down heavy but there seemed to be a clearing in the sky, so we just sat and watched the water together waiting for the storm to pass. The sound of the rain hitting the umbrella while I rest my head on hers was absolutely poetic.
